The teacher

Hi! I’m Kristen Culley, and I’m excited to be your teacher! I’m a Career and Technical Education teacher at Queen Creek High School, where I teach Video Production and Digital Photography. I love helping students discover their creativity, develop real-world skills, and find their own unique voice through digital media.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Career and Technical Education from Northern Arizona University. Before teaching at the high school level, I taught STEM at Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary for three years. I’ve spent the past five years teaching high school, bringing together my experiences in technology, creative media, and education to create hands-on learning experiences for students.

SkillsUSA and yearbook

In addition to teaching, I’m a SkillsUSA chapter advisor and have spent five years competing alongside students at regional and state SkillsUSA competitions. I’ve hosted the Region 3 Broadcast Television competition, worked with Arizona SkillsUSA State Officers and industry professionals, and helped support a chapter that has earned SkillsUSA Chapter of Distinction recognition for three consecutive years. I also advise our nationally recognized yearbook program.

What she asks of students

I believe the best learning happens when students are given opportunities to experiment, take creative risks, collaborate, and learn from both their successes and mistakes. My classroom is a place where creativity, curiosity, problem-solving, and a little bit of fun are always encouraged.
